The Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting (APCCS) is a group of individuals who promote Catholic religious values within the Scouting movement in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The APCCS encompasses 3 Boy Scout Councils; Cradle of Liberty Council, Bucks County Council, & Chester County Council, BSAs. The APCCS is subdivided into smaller operating County Sub-Committees; Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, & Philadelphia Counties. Each County Chair is a voting member of the APCCS.
The APCCS provides opportunities for Catholic Scouts to increase their faith awareness through the Annual BSA Retreat and the Annual Scout Recognition Mass. The APCCS also administers the NCCS Catholic Religious Emblems Program (“Light of Christ”-Tiger/Wolf, “Parvuli Dei”-Bear/Webelos, “Ad Altare Dei”-Boy Scout (Latin Rite), “Light is Life”-Boy Scout [Eastern Rite], “Pope Pius XII”-Venturing/Sea Scout) as well as other Activities & Programs. The APCCS is also responsible for choosing outstanding Catholic Scouts to attend the “St. George Trek” at Philmont on behalf of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
